QuickSilver Statistics Manager YOU MUST HAVE QS v1.3b0 OR HIGHER TO ENABLE USE OF THIS MODULE. ALSO, WIN98 and IE4.0. 2005-10-30 18:00 v1.9b12 1) My last update fixed an assertion failed, but caused the dialog explaining the url was missing turned out to open for every url even when there is no problem. Fixed. 2005-10-26 14:15 v1.9b11 1) Running QSstats from QSnym to update rlist.txt and pubring.asc was not forcing update so QSnym continued to believe the pages were older than a day. Fixed. 2) Fixed assertion failed when downloading a page for which there is no URL available in the URL Manager list of urls. Now the user is informed about the missing URL and then the procedure continues. 2005-06-25 13:00 v1.9b10 1) Added dialog suggesting the user update keyrings when updating stats from a new source. 2005-06-12 14:48 v1.9b9 1) Added checks for encrypted database before each database access. 2005-04-24 01:00 v1.9b8 1) Corrected the problem ThAd found—mail2news.txt could not be opened from the View menu. Type2.list had this problem also and both are fixed. Type2.list was not on the View menu previously. You will not find it on the Pages menu because it is not downloaded. QS generates it on saving pubring.mix. 2005-04-21 14:55 v1.9b7 1) Added mail2news.txt to the QuickSilver pages available for download. 2005-03-08 01:10 v1.9b6 1) Fixed version number mismatch. QS should report the correct version in About Box and Update Wizard. 2005-02-21 00:05 v1.9b5 1) Recompiled with the newest version of the internet controls QS uses. 2004-09-26 14:00 v1.9b4 1) Added ‘Bar remailer from last in chains’ feature. This requires update to QS1.3b5. Something to be aware of in the Barred Remailers Dialog. Remailers designated to be barred from last in chains will not have ‘strikeout text’. They do, however, have ‘,last’ appended to their names. 2004-08-24 13:50 v1.9b2 1) Corrected odd condition in which the first line of the pubring.mix was added as a result message for update of rlist.txt and pubring.asc. Pretty weird, eh! 2) Corrected failed assertion when advisory.txt times out. Fixed pages download to cascade to secondary URLs on *all* results except successful retrieve (result code 200 or 304) and exception encountered (HTTP or client). 3) Added the topic ‘Auto-update stats periodically’, under the Help, Common Tasks heading explaining the –auto and –hide commandline switches for running stats at periodic intervals. 2004-07-27 23:33 v1.9b1 1) Added commandline switch ‘-version’ to cause QSstats to write it’s version to it’s ini file. This is for internal use. 2) Added reformat of mlist.txt and rlist.lxt, bringing the stats portion to the top. 3) Added specific error report if user downloads version 2 of mlist.txt or rlist.txt. 2004-07-21 00:40 v1.9b0 1) I moved the page ‘modified date’ on downloaded stats from last line of the associated page to an off screen location. 2004-07-19 13:47 v1.9a1 1) Corrected failed assertions when reading URLs.txt caused by page modified date at the bottom of the page. 2004-07-03 13:50 v1.9a0 Initial release of the statistics manager. It is functionally complete. The help is complete. It uses other modules which are included. If you have not downloaded QSruntime.zip, do it now using the Update Wizard. It must be installed for the stats manager. IMPORTANT: If you have a problem with button glyphs displaying incorrectly, let me know. The cause is with a MS dll. This is fixable but I need a system to test it on. You will definitely know if you are affected by this problem. TO temporarily return to the original QS Remailer Dialog system, rename the file "qsstats.exe" to something else. That hides it from QS. You can do the same with "qsproxy.exe" to remove the "Proxy Manager" item on the Tools menu. The stats sources in this program use a new format of its urls. V1 listed stats urls by page name (such as 'mlist.txt'). V2 lists urls by source (such as 'randseed'). V2 stores URLs in the file, urls.txt, in the QS home directory rather than in the QS database. To make the conversion as painless as possible, I created a converter and the first time you run QS after install, it will create urls.txt. However, I have no idea what your URL lists look like. They might be the same as those that came with QS. Maybe they are totally different. You might have even added some comments for all I know. So I decided to copy the first 4 sources from the existing lists. That should work out safe enough, but if you are at all unhappy with the conversion, I've also placed the v1 url list in the file 'urls.v1.txt' in the QS home directory. You can use it to arrange the urls by the sources you wish. Sorry for any inconvenience. The most important aspect for testing right now is that it must prove immediately usable. It will present itself to you just as the Remailer Dialog did. Send a mix message and it will get stats for you. If you encounter something that precludes use of this program, you can temporarily return to the original Remailer Dialog by renaming QSstats.exe to something else. I know you will let me know if this occurs. Please make a backup or copy your QS home directory somewhere else. This is a short-term caution.
